Mechanical Engineering Board Exam Result February 2020

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the results of the Mechanical Engineering Board Examinations. The said examination was conducted on February 23-24, 2020 at various PRC testing centers in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Lucena. The examination was given by the Professional Regulatory Board of Mechanical Engineering headed by its Chairman, Engr. Jesus M. Redelosa and its members, Engr. Jerico T. Borja and Engr. Lorenzo P. Larion.

Mechanical Engineer Board Exam Results

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 1,334 out of 3,469 passed the Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination. Congratulations to our new registered mechanical engineers!

Initial Registration and Requirements

From March 9 to March 13, 2020, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. To accomplish the initial registration, follow our PRC online registration guide to help you through the online application process.

Here are the registration requirements:

  • Notice of Admission (NOA) – for identification purposes
  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Passport-sized ID Photos in white background and with complete name tag (2 pieces)
  • Documentary Stamps (2 sets)
  • Short Brown Envelope (1 piece)

PRC added that successful examinees shall personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Previous Exam

On August 2019 exam, 3,928 out of 5,563 passed the Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination. Mr. Lester Toledo of Cebu Intitute of Technology- University emerged as the top examinee with a rating of 94.65%. He was followed by Hutch Valles of Bulacan State University- Malolos with a rating of 94.05%  clinching the second spot.

I know recent ME board passers who admitted about being given answers by fellow “bright” test takers during the exam, through using clever gesture codes for each letter. That is very unfair to honest test takers who refused to cheat and want to earn a license through their own effort. Steps should be taken to detect patterns of gestures and sounds that test takers are doing to communicate answers. Concerned because I know people who were genuinely substandard students, who cheated their way through college, who passed the ME board exam in just one try, because of this tactic. So what are you trying to say? You’re telling everybody to only choose those who did not cheated on their board exams? How are they supposed to know that? “Did you cheat on your board exam, Engineer X?” Steps that should be taken? The board chairman and its members are totally aware of the students who would cheat that they enforced an improved protocol regarding tight inspections before the exam and strict regulations during the exam.
