LTO Online Registration Renewal of Vehicles: 2024 Guide

Renewing your car or motorcycle registration in the Philippines can be time-consuming and frustrating, especially if you have to do it in person at an LTO Office. Most of the time, the entire process in LTO usually takes a full day to complete, so you spend most of your precious time waiting in line. Fortunately, LTO now offers the option to renew your motorcycle or car registration online using the LTMS (Land Transportation Management System) portal. In this article, we will guide you through the process of renewing your vehicle registration online using LTMS.

Online LTO Registration Renewal Process

To qualify for the online car renewal, you need to have a registered LTMS portal account and have completed the latest renewal transaction through LTMS. You can log in to the portal and verify whether your vehicle is already linked to your LTMS account. If your vehicle is not yet on the system, the officials at any LTO district office can perform the transaction on your behalf through the LTMS portal. The system will reflect your car’s details for the succeeding years that you need to renew your registration.

If you want to register a modification or change the color of your car, you must do it in person at the nearest LTO office since online car registration renewal is only available for simple renewal transactions.

1. Get a Certificate of Coverage

Before you begin your online transaction, make sure you’ve secured a Certificate of Coverage (COC) from your preferred insurance provider that will electronically transmit the COC to the Land Transportation Management System.

You can get your Compulsory Third Party Liability insurance online through Kwik Insure. It is a marketplace where you can choose your preferred insurance provider. For a lower cost of ₱560.00, you can secure your car’s CTPL through Kwik Insure instead of purchasing from providers located near LTO offices. While Kwik Insure does not electronically transfer the Certificate of Cover (COC) to the LTMS directly, they can provide a soft copy to your registered email address. This allows for easy uploading of the COC to your LTMS Portal, making the process more streamlined.

2. Secure a Motor Vehicle Inspection Report

Bring your vehicle to the nearest Private Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (PMVIC) and have it checked for roadworthiness. After passing the inspection, the PMVIC will electronically send the inspection report to the LTMS.

3. Log in to LTMS

Log in to the LTMS site and start the Online MV Registration Renewal process. It is not necessary to include the Certificate of Coverage (COC) information or the PMVIC inspection report number. The LTMS will fill in the details automatically because they were already transmitted.

4. Pay the Registration Fee

Pay the registration fee online. Once paid, the system will generate an official receipt. LTO will send the official receipt to your registered email address and it will be viewable in your LTO Portal account.

Renewing your car registration online using the LTMS portal is a quick and convenient way to keep your vehicle registration up-to-date. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can renew your registration in just a few minutes, at your own pace, and without ever having to leave your home.

Hi, this is from Kwik.Insure. I’d really appreciate you recommending https://kwik.insure/. However, I’d want to stress that the insurance provider does not have access to the customer’s LTMS and that we cannot transfer the COC straight to their site. However, we can provide a soft copy to your registered email address so that the customer can easily upload it to their respective portal. Again, thank you for trusting us!
