National ID Tracking: How to Track your PhilSys ID

The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) issues the PhilSys ID, or the national ID card, as a means of establishing one’s identity. It acts as the country’s central identification system for all Filipino citizens and resident aliens.

Filipino citizens and eligible residents who have met all registration requirements for their Philippine National ID cards may now track their delivery status via the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) website. In this article, we’ll walk you through the process of tracking the status of your Philippine National Identification (PhilID) card’s delivery.

Online National ID Tracker: How to Track PhilID

If you’ve been waiting for months or years and are curious about the status of your Philippine National ID, here’s how you can track its delivery status.

1. Get the Transaction Reference Number

Look for the transaction reference number (TRN) on the PHILSYS transaction slip that was given to you after the application. You can easily spot it on the slip. It is a twenty-nine-digit number that serves as your tracking number. If you’ve lost your transaction slip or failed to record the TRN, you won’t be able to track your PHILSYS ID using this method.

2. Go to PHLPost Website

You can track your Philippine National ID delivery status using any device with an internet connection. Simply visit the PHLPost tracking website at http://tracking.phlpost.gov.ph/. You can also use your smartphone or tablet to access the tracker website. Just use the device you’re most comfortable with.

3. Track Your National ID

Enter your transaction reference number in the space provided. If you have multiple PhilSys IDs to track, you can input up to 30 tracking numbers per line to track them as one batch. Click the “Track” button to begin the tracking process. Wait for a few seconds until the site loads the tracking results.

You’ll be able to see the current status of your National ID delivery. If the most recent event resulted in “Not Found,” your ID is still in the processing stage. If the most recent event is marked as “In Transit,” it means it is already available and on its way to your registered address.

How to Claim the National ID

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, you will receive your National ID in about six months after completing the application process. However, due to the large number of Filipinos who applied for a PhilID after its launch in 2021, the typical duration for receiving one extends beyond six months, or even years in some cases.

To obtain the National ID, you need to get ready and present the transaction slip along with a valid identification card or barangay certificate. If you are unable to pick it up in person, you can designate a representative to do so on your behalf. You simply have to provide an authorization letter and a valid ID.

PHLPost will make three delivery attempts for the National ID. If you or your authorized representative do not receive the National ID, it will be held at the designated post office. You can claim it within 30 calendar days by presenting the transaction slip along with a valid ID or barangay certificate as proof of identity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the most frequently asked questions about Philippine National ID tracking:

1. Is it possible to claim my Philippine National ID if I’ve lost my transaction slip?

Yes, you can still claim your Philippine National ID even if you’ve lost your transaction slip. In my case, I lost mine but was still able to claim it. Simply inform the courier that you’ve lost your transaction slip and present a valid identification card.

2. What should I do if my Philippine National ID is still “Not Found” in the tracker after over a year?

If you haven’t received your National ID yet, you can visit your local post office and inquire if they have it. Due to the high volume of deliveries, it’s possible that your ID got buried in the pile. Alternatively, you can visit the barangay hall where you reside and ask if they have your ID. Sometimes, PHLPost delivers IDs to the barangay hall instead of individual houses. This was the case for me, and I received my National ID from a barangay personnel. Just bring your transaction slip and a valid ID when you visit either of these locations.

3. What should I do if I don’t have any valid ID and I need a Philippine National ID?

If you need a Philippine National ID but have no valid ID, you can apply for an ePhilID. It is a digital version of the PhilID that can be printed and used instead of the National ID. Here are the steps to apply for an ePhilID:

  • Step 1: Log on to http://appt.philsys.gov.ph/, fill out all required fields, and book an appointment at your chosen registration center.
  • Step 2: Go to the nearest registration center on your scheduled date and time. Do not forget to bring the transaction slip.
  • Step 3. The PSA personnel will print your ePhilID. If you are still a minor, make sure your parent or legal guardian is present when you claim the printed ePhilID.

Conclusion

The PhilSys ID is designed to provide valid proof of identity for all Filipino citizens and resident aliens. Despite the promise of this initiative, many registrants are still awaiting the delivery of their IDs. The delay in the delivery of the PhilSys ID remains unexplained by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost). This has led to speculation that it may be related to the fire incident at the Manila Central Post Office in May 2023.

The public’s anticipation to receive their IDs and enjoy their benefits has turned into frustration and anger due to this delay. In response to this situation, the PSA has provided a way for applicants to track the status of their IDs. By using the online tracker, you can track the progress and delivery status of your National ID. Knowing the status of your ID can help you anticipate its arrival and avoid any inconvenience.
