August 2024 Food Technologists Licensure Exam Result

The Professional Regulation Commission released the official results of the Food Technologists Licensure Exam on August 29, 2024. The list of the top ten examinees will also be included in the release two (2) working days after the last day of the examinations.

Food Technology has recently been established as a regulated profession under Republic Act No. 110521, commonly referred to as the “Philippine Food Technology Act”. On August 22–23, 2024, the examination was overseen by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in conjunction with the Board of Food Technology. The licensure exams were directed by Chairman Anthony C. Sales and member Remedios V. Baclig of the Board of Food Technology.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 510 out of 995 passed the Food Technologists Licensure Examination. Congratulations to the passers!

Initial Registration and Requirements

The registration for the issuance of a Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done online and only accessible through an online appointment. The PRC will also release the schedule for the online appointment along with the list of passers. Here are the registration requirements:

  • Notice of Admission (NOA) for identification purposes
  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Passport-sized ID Photos on a white background and with a complete name tag (2 pieces)
  • Documentary Stamps (2 sets)
  • Short Brown Envelope (1 piece)

The official date of the oath-taking ceremony for the new food technologists will be announced later.

About the FoodTech Board Exam

The inclusion of Food Technology as a regulated profession by the Professional Regulation Commission was established with the enactment of Republic Act No. 11052, also referred to as the “Philippine Food Technology Act,” on June 29, 2018, under the administration of President Rodrigo R. Duterte. According to the law, the recently established Board of Food Technology has been assigned the responsibility of formulating, implementing, and enforcing rules and regulations. Additionally, the board is entrusted with the mission of overseeing and regulating the registration, licensing, and professional activities related to the field of food technology within the whole country.
