Pursuant to Republic Act No. 544* as Amended by R.A. 1582, any person who wants to practice civil engineering in the Philippines shall be required to pass a technical examination given by the Professional Board of Civil Engineering. Therefore, the Professional Regulation Commission and the Professional Board of Civil Engineering regularly conducts the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination twice a year, in the months of May and November. Here are the details of the November 2018 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination to be given in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga:

The Professional Regulation Commission advises applicants to use the PRC’s Licensure Examination and Registration Information System (LERIS) to set an appointment on your preferred PRC office when filing the exam application. Qualifications
Under the Section 12 of the Civil Engineering Law, applicants of the Civil Engineering Board Exam shall satisfy the following criteria prior to the date of the examination:
- He or she must be a Filipino citizen;
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age;
- Having a good reputation and moral character; and
- A graduate of a 5-year course in civil engineering from a school, institute, college or university recognized by the Government or the State wherein it is established.
Board Exam Requirements
Applicants must present the following documents to the PRC Office on your scheduled date:
- Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA);
- If the applicant is a married female, present an original copy of the marriage contract issued by the PSA;
- Transcript of Records with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes”
- Valid NBI Clearance (First Timers & Repeaters)
- Payment fee of Php 900.00;
- Two (2) Certificates of Good Moral Character from any 2 of the following:
- Barangay
- Church
- School
- Employer

Passing Score/Grade
To pass the Civil Engineering Board Exam, a candidate must obtain a general average of 70% with no grades lower than 50% in any given subject.
