Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas

The “Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat ng Pilipinas” is the pledge of allegiance to the Philippine flag. It is one of two national pledges, the other being the Philippine national pledge, the Panatang Makabayan (Patriotic Oath). At flag ceremonies, the Pledge of Allegiance to the Philippine Flag is recited immediately after the Patriotic Oath or, in the absence of the Patriotic Oath, after the national anthem.

Ako ay Pilipino
Buong katapatang nanunumpa
Sa watawat ng Pilipinas
At sa bansang kanyang sinasagisag
Na may dangal, katarungan at kalayaan
Na pinakikilos ng sambayanang
Maka-Diyos
Maka-tao
Makakalikasan at
Makabansa.

Here is the translation of Panunumpa sa Watawat in the English language:

I am a Filipino
I pledge allegiance
To the flag of the Philippines
And to the country it represents
With honor, justice and freedom
That is put in motion by a nation that is
For God, humanity,
Nature and
Country.

The pledge was legalized by Executive Order No. 343, signed by then-President Fidel V. Ramos on Independence Day (12 June 1996), and later by Republic Act No. 8491, the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines. The law does not specify what language the pledge must be recited in, although it is written in Filipino and consequently recited in that language.
