Exam Ratings
Examinees can view their exam ratings through the CSC’s OCSERGS or Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System. The examination rating from the OCSERGS shall be available in about 15 days after the posting of official results.

Issuance of Certificates of Eligibility
The Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) for the Professional and Sub-Professional levels will be available 30 days after posting the official results. However, it would help if you verified first with the CSC Regional/Field Office the availability of the CoE. The Civil Service Commission issues the CoE free of charge, but you must claim it personally because representatives are not allowed to claim the certificate. If you took the exam in a certain region but recently moved to another region, you can claim your Certificate of Eligibility at the nearest CSC Regional or Field Office upon written request.
After verifying the availability of the CoE, go to the CSC Regional or Field Office and bring the same valid ID used during the filing of the exam application. If that ID is lost or unavailable, present any ID accepted by the Civil Service Commission. Please keep in mind that the CSC may require additional documents as necessary to establish the identity of the passers. In addition to the ID, you may also bring the application receipt, CSC Official Receipt, birth certificate, or marriage certificate in case the CSC requires them.
What is the Civil Service Examination?
The Career Service Examination, more commonly known as the Civil Service Exam, is one of the most widely taken government examinations in the Philippines. It is administered by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to determine whether applicants possess the competencies required for employment in the Philippine government. Passing the examination grants Career Service Eligibility, which serves as one of the basic qualifications for appointment to many first-level and second-level positions in government agencies.
The examination is conducted through the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) and, in selected locations, through the Computerized Examination (CSC-COMEX). Applicants may choose between the Professional and Subprofessional levels depending on the type of eligibility they wish to obtain and the government positions they intend to pursue.
The Career Service Examination is more than just a qualifying test for government employment. It is designed to determine whether an applicant possesses the minimum competencies expected of a career civil servant. Aside from measuring academic knowledge, the examination evaluates logical reasoning, analytical thinking, verbal communication, numerical ability, and general awareness of important national issues. These competencies are essential because government employees are expected to make sound decisions, communicate effectively with the public, and perform their duties with integrity and professionalism.
Why Civil Service Eligibility Matters
Obtaining Career Service Eligibility opens the door to numerous employment opportunities in national government agencies, local government units, government-owned and controlled corporations, state universities and colleges, and other public institutions. Although eligibility alone does not automatically guarantee employment, it satisfies one of the most important qualification requirements for many first-level and second-level government positions.
Career Service Eligibility also demonstrates that an individual has met nationally recognized standards established by the Civil Service Commission. Employers often view eligible applicants as individuals who possess the basic competencies required for public service, making them more competitive during recruitment and promotion processes.
Ultimately, passing the Civil Service Examination represents more than earning a certificate. It is a significant milestone toward building a meaningful career dedicated to serving the Filipino people. Whether you pass on your first attempt or after several tries, persistence, discipline, and continuous learning remain the keys to achieving your goal of becoming a public servant.
Tips for Future Civil Service Examinees
If you’re planning to take the next Civil Service Examination, begin preparing as early as possible. Reviewing several weeks or months before the examination is generally more effective than cramming during the final few days.
Develop a regular study schedule and divide your review sessions among all subject areas. Spend extra time on your weakest topics while continuing to practice your stronger ones. Regularly answer mock examinations under timed conditions to improve both your speed and accuracy.
Don’t simply memorize answers. Instead, understand the concepts behind every question. This approach will help you solve unfamiliar problems that may appear during the actual examination.
Finally, make sure you are physically and mentally prepared on examination day. Get enough sleep, arrive early at the testing center, read every question carefully, and manage your time wisely throughout the test.
Congratulations to All Successful Examinees
Passing the Civil Service Examination is an achievement worth celebrating. It reflects months of preparation, determination, and perseverance. Whether you are pursuing a career in national government agencies, local government units, government-owned and controlled corporations, or constitutional offices, earning Career Service Eligibility is an important step toward serving the Filipino people.
For those who are still waiting for their opportunity, remember that success is often the result of persistence. Continue learning, keep practicing, and don’t lose sight of your goal. Every review session brings you one step closer to obtaining your eligibility and building a meaningful career in public service.
Once again, congratulations to all March 2025 CSE-PPT passers! We wish you success as you begin the next chapter of your professional journey in the Philippine civil service.
