BFP Hiring 2025: Fire Officer 1 Recruitment CY 2025

In line with the directive to fill two hundred (200) vacant positions for Fire Officer 1 (FO1), the Bureau of Fire Protection National Headquarters (BFP-NHQ) has officially announced the opening of the recruitment and selection process for Calendar Year (CY) 2025.

The Bureau of Fire Protection is inviting qualified and dedicated individuals to join its ranks and become part of a noble institution committed to saving lives and protecting properties. Successful applicants will be appointed as Fire Officer 1 (FO1)—the entry-level position in the uniformed service of the BFP.

How to Apply in BFP

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is now implementing an online registration system for all applicants interested in applying for the Fire Officer 1 (FO1) position. This aims to streamline the recruitment process and ensure efficient submission of applications.

Required Documents for Upload

Applicants must prepare clear and complete scanned copies of the following documents for submission through the online system:

A. Duly accomplished Fire Officer 1 (FO1) Application Form
B. Personal Data Sheet (PDS) – Fully accomplished, notarized/administered by an authorized officer, with a recent passport-sized photo (CS Form No. 212, Revised 2025). The form can be downloaded from the Civil Service Commission website at www.csc.gov.ph.
C. Approved Certificate of Waiver (if applicable)

Applicants are reminded to ensure that all uploaded documents are clear, complete, and accurate. Incomplete or erroneous submissions may result in disqualification from the recruitment process.

Qualifications for FO1

  • Must be a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
  • Open to all male and female Filipino citizens not less than 21 years old nor more than 30 years of age;
  • Must be at least 1.57 meters or 5’2″ in height for males and 1.52 meters or 5’0″ for the female in order to qualify. For applicants who do not meet the height requirement but are members of the Indigenous Peoples or Muslim Filipinos or with a Professional Driver’s License with restriction code 1,2,3 (PDL 123), or a consistent honor or honor graduates (PD No 907) or having a certification of volunteers from Government or Private Owned Fire Stations or Fire brigade, with proof of attendance and Fire Volunteer ID, they can avail of the height waiver issued by the Fire Chief.
  • Must weigh no more or less than 5 kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to his/her height, age and sex.
  • Must be a holder of a baccalaureate degree from a government-recognized institution.

  • A person of good moral character.
  • Must pass a series of evaluations and tests, i.e. neuro-psychiatric, medical and drug tests, to determine the physical and mental health of the applicant.
  • Must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment; and
  • Must not have been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude.
  • No training or experience is required.

Documentary Requirements

Furthermore, the submission of hard copies of the following documentary requirements to the Office of the Recruitment and Selection Section (ORSS), Human Resource Management Division (HRMD), Directorate for Human Resource Development (DHRD), BFP National Headquarters (NHQ) will be announced at a later date.

However, applicants are advised to keep all original and hard copy documents readily available at any time during the screening process, as these may be required for verification and validation purposes.

  1. An application letter (addressed to the Chief, BFP) indicating the position and item you are applying for (check the format below);
  2. A fully-accomplished Personal Data Sheet (CSC Form 212 Revised 2025). Print entries using a black ballpen only. Do not use a sign pen;
  3. Authenticated copy of Transcript of Records and College Diploma (authenticated by the school registrar);
  4. Authenticated copy of Certificate of Eligibility from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) or Report of Rating/Board Rating authenticated by Professional Regulation Commission (PRC); or screenshot of Online Civil Service Eligibility Verification System (CSEVS).
  5. Authenticated copy of Certificate of Waiver (for applicants with age and/or height deficiency/ies);
  6. Photocopy of Certificate of Live Birth issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA);
  7. For married female applicants, please submit a copy of the Certificate of Marriage issued by the PSA;
  8. Photocopy of two (2) valid IDs.
  9. Pag-IBIG Members Data Form (MDF
  10. Tax Identification Number
  11. Authenticated copy of Appointment for those who have previous government service
  12. Philhealth Member Data Record
  13. Clearances: Barangay, PNP, Mayor, NBI, RTC Clearance, MTC

If you cannot provide the authenticated documents, you will be required to execute an Affidavit of Undertaking specifying that the deadline of submission of the required documents shall be on or before the Oath-taking Ceremony.
