If you are looking for the guide on how to become a police officer, then you are on the right page. This article will cover the procedures and the requirements for the NAPOLCOM-PNP Entrance Examination. If you think you have all the qualifications below, you may proceed with your application. Please, do not apply if you are not qualified. You’ll just waste your time.
Minimum Qualification Standards
|Applicant Classification||Age||Height||Educational Attainment|
|Civilian||Not more than 30 years old||–||Bachelor’s Degree|
Yes, there is no more height requirement but here’s the catch:
According to NAPOLCOM, they removed the height requirement for the entrance examination only (successful PNP exam takers are eligible for other government jobs outside the PNP). Police aspirants must still possess the required height – men and women need to be at least 1.62 meters (5’4″) and 1.57 meters (5’2″) tall, respectively to be admitted to the police service. The NAPOLCOM cannot just remove the height requirement because it is mandated by RA 6975 unless this law is amended.
*The NAPOLCOM MC. No. 2007-009, Section 7 Item No.4, as amended by NAPOLCOM MC No. 2011-0001, provides that the minimum height requirement for PNP applicants who are members of indigenous communities shall be 1.52 meters for males and 1.45 meters for females. For examination purposes, they are required to submit a Certification of their tribal membership issued by the Main Office of the Commission of Indigenous People (NCIP) or the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), or a height waiver issued by the NAPOLCOM.
How to apply for the PNP Entrance Exam
The PNP Entrance examination is open to all Filipino citizens who meet the age, height, and educational requirements. Those who pass the examination are conferred by the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) the PNP Entrance Eligibility which is appropriate for appointment to the rank of Patrolman/Patrolwoman, as prescribed under Section 30 of RA 6975, as amended by Republic Act 8551.
