LET Results: September 2023 Licensure Examination for Teachers

LET RESULT SEPTEMBER 2023– The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the September 2023 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LET) results for elementary and secondary levels today, December 7, 2023. The lists of the top ten examinees for both levels are also included in the release, fifty (50) working days after the examination.

On September 24, 2023, the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) was conducted at several testing centers located in the NCR, Antique, Bacolod, Baguio, Batac Ilocos Norte, Bayambang Pangasinan, Bohol, Butuan City, Cagayan de Oro, Candon Ilocos Sur, Catarman, Cauayan Isabela, Cebu, Davao, Digos, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Kidapawan, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Marinduque, Masbate City, Mati City, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Misamis Occidental, Pagadian, Palawan, Pampanga, Romblon, Rosales Pangasinan, Sta. Cruz Laguna, Tacloban, Tagum City, Valencia City Bukidnon, Virac Catanduanes, and Zamboanga.

It was administered by the PRC Board of Professional Teachers, headed by its Chairman, Dr. Rosita L. Navarro; Dr. Paz I. Lucido, Vice Chairman; and the members, Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy.

According to PRC, 23,782 out of 50,593 (47.01%) passed the elementary level, and 53,995 out of 95,969 (56.26%) hurdled the secondary level. Congratulations to our new LPTs!

Initial Registration and Requirements

The registration for the issuance of a Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done online and only accessible through an online appointment. The PRC will also release the schedule for the online appointment along with the list of passers. To complete the initial registration, follow our PRC online registration guide to help you through the online application process.

Here are the registration requirements:

  • Notice of Admission (NOA) for identification purposes
  • Duly completed Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Passport-sized ID Photos on a white background with a complete name tag (2 pieces)
  • Documentary Stamps (2 sets)
  • Short Brown Envelope (1 piece)

The official date of the oath-taking ceremony for the new registered professional teachers will be announced later.

Previous Exams

The Professional Regulation Commission conducts the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers to assess the competency and quality of aspiring teachers who want to enter the profession. The LEPT is conducted twice per year, usually in March and September, and it covers both elementary and secondary levels. It is the largest licensure examination program in the country, with more than 100,000 examinees each year.

In March 2023, 24,819 elementary teachers out of 60,896 examinees (40.76%) and 48,005 secondary teachers out of 102,272 examinees (46.94%) successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers. Mirven Maghuyop Cabesay from the University of Mindanao-Davao City secured the top spot in the secondary level with an impressive rating of 93.40%. Similarly, Sitty Ken Alip, Mikaela Bonador, Jose King Clet, Cyntal Arra Dayag, Andrea Nicole Sumugat, and Fritzie Mae Unabia from various universities and colleges shared the top spot at the elementary level with a rating of 92.20%.

In October 2022, 49,783 elementary teachers out of 91,468 examinees (54.43%) and 71,080 secondary teachers out of 139,534 examinees (50.94%) successfully passed the exam.

Baby Patricia Tabano Bensi and Maria Catherine Cauba, both graduates of Cebu Normal University, shared the top spot in the elementary level of the October 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers with an identical rating of 94.60%. Meanwhile, Jessiree Flores Pantilgan, a graduate of the University of Mindanao-Panabo, topped the boards at the secondary level with a rating of 94.60%.

The Philippine Normal University-Manila was the top-performing school in the elementary level with a passing rate of 95.12%. For the secondary level, the University of the Philippines-Los Baños and UP-Visayas shared the top spot as the top-performing schools with a passing rate of 100%.
